(video 2) The Context of the Innovator: Space (Curso Design Thinking)

This is part 1 of 3 of Lecture 1 of the Design Thinking Action Lab - July 2013

Before we dive into our design challenge next week, this week we are going to explore three aspects, space, people and process. We're going to start by doing a quick tour of the d.school space.

This is the atrium of the d.school. It has several spaces for students to pop up and work on their projects for a short time. It also has an open area that can be used for presentations, as is being used right now. This is the last day of the quarter, so lots of classes are doing their final project presentations.
Este é o átrio do d.school. Ele tem vários espaços para que os alunos apareçam e trabalhem em seus projetos por um tempo curto. Tem também uma área aberta que pode ser usado para apresentações, tal como está sendo utilizada no momento. This is one of the main teaching studios in the d.school. As you can see we have different furniture in the space. We have couches, tables on wheels, we have chairs and moving rolling whiteboards.
Este é um dos principais estúdios de ensino no d.school. Como você pode ver, temos diferentes móveis no espaço. Temos sofás, mesas com rodas, temos cadeiras e quadros móveis com rodinhas.

And, and we want every teacher to come to a space before class and stop and think how they want the space reconfigured. To foster the kinds of interactions that they want to have in their classes. Do they want the students sitting, looking at something in the screen in front, or do they want teams working together. So this, default state is a very important design feature of this space.
E, e queremos que cada professor chegue ao espaço antes da aula para pararem e pensarem como querem que o espaço esteja reconfigurado. Para fomentar os tipos de interações que eles querem ter em suas aulas. Eles querem que os alunos sentados, olhando para algo na tela na frente, ou que eles querem as equipes que trabalham em conjunto. Assim, estado padrão é uma característica de projeto muito importante deste espaço.

This is the prototyping area where students have access to materials to build prototypes. Materials that are cheap and fast to build as well as other tools to build more refined prototypes. Right next to the physical prototyping room, we have a digital prototyping room. Where students can make videos and other digital assets for their prototypes.
Esta é a área de prototipagem, onde os alunos têm acesso a materiais para a construção de protótipos. Materiais que são baratos e fáceis de construir, assim como outras ferramentas para construir protótipos mais refinados. Ao lado da sala de prototipagem física, temos uma sala de prototipagem digital. Onde os alunos podem fazer vídeos e outras tarefas digitais para os seus protótipos.

The Bay Studio is the main area where student teams work. We have initiative rooms such as the K12 room over here. These are rooms for specific projects.
The Bay Studio é a área principal, onde as equipes de estudantes trabalham. Temos salas de trabalhos como a sala K12 aqui. Estas salas são para projetos específicos.

This in particular is the room for the K12 education project. You see lots of post-its and photos on the walls that represent the different projects that this initiative is working on. One thing that is very important, that is that this room doesn't belong to a person, but to a project.
Esta em particular é a sala para o projeto de educação K12. Você ve um monte de post-its e fotos nas paredes que representam os diferentes projetos em que este grupo está trabalhando. Uma coisa que é muito importante, que é que esta sala não pertence a uma pessoa, mas a um projeto.

And so, as soon as anyone working on the project gets inside the room they're smarter about the project. They know, they see the ideas and everything is very visible on the walls. This is the main area where student teams come to work on their projects.
E assim, quem trabalha no projeto fica dentro da sala e sabe mais sobre o projeto. Eles sabem, eles vêem as idéias e tudo é muito visível nas paredes. Esta é a área principal, onde as equipes de estudantes vêm para trabalhar em seus projetos.

As you can see we have, furniture that can be moved and reconfigured, as well as boards that slide to create private spaces for the teams to work. The teams have also boards that they can permanently have, work in progress. They can put these boards, in the space as they work and then when they're done they put them back in storage. At the Bay Studio we also have storage shelves.

Como você pode ver, temos, móveis que podem ser movidos e reconfigurado, assim como placas que deslizam para criar espaços privados para as equipes para o trabalho. As equipes também têm placas que podem ter permanentemente, o trabalho em andamento. Eles podem colocar estas placas, no espaço como eles trabalham e depois quando estiver pronto que colocá-los de volta no armazenamento. No Estúdio Bay também temos prateleiras.

And as you can see these are open, these are places for these students to leave their work in progress so that it's visible to others.
E como você pode ver estas são abertos, estes são lugares para estes alunos para deixar o seu trabalho em andamento para que seja visível para os outros.

These are students who have taken an Introductory Design Thinking class and are reflecting visually on the process as they have experienced it.
Estes são os alunos que tiveram uma aula de Introdução ao Design Thinking e estão refletindo visualmente sobre o processo de como eles já passaram por isso.
